“I think you’d look pretty cute pregnant,” he said, glancing at me with a smile.
“I hope they get your blue eyes and blonde hair,” I replied back looking at him with a smile as I reached for his hand.
“As long as they get your smile, I’d be happy,” he added.
Dave and I were on the way to the doctor’s office for my post op surgery results.
Four years earlier, at 27 and 31 years old, we married and were well into our careers, built our new house, and were ready to start a family. But, after two years, we still weren’t pregnant. I suggested we head to the doctor. After weeks of the two of us being poked and prodded, the doctor performed laparoscopic surgery on me. After the surgery the doctore gave Dave great news that she was able to clean up the endometriosis in my lower abdomen increasing our chances of conceiving.
However, all our dreams, hope and optimism shattered as the doctor stated, “I don’t know if you will ever conceive a child.”
Those words would change the trajectory of my life for the next 6 years. I started down the path of questioning God’s plan for my life as I fought for mental, emotional and spiritual health in my life as God asked me to trust Him for an unknown future.

I just finished reading “faithful”. Becky is a gifted and talented writer! I love her writing style. It’s raw with emotion and brutally honest. I didn’t want to put it down once I started reading. So glad she had the courage to share her testimony with the world. This book is going to be a blessing to its readers!
Becky Graham is completely honest and her honesty kept me captivated. This is a beautiful story that illustrates how being faithful and trusting God’s timing brings peace even when faced with endless obstacles. She reminds me that obstacles are necessary to learning and the journey of life. My favorite line was “The more faithful I was to Him, the more faithful He was to me.”
The reading of this book itself is an unexpected journey to its readers as it makes us reflect upon our lives, the choices we make, and the importance of having faith… all in a very pleasant, fun, and even romantic way. Loved it!

Although I was blessed with four children, my sweet daughter-in-law is well passed her forty-fifth birthday and after three miscarriages has re-devoted her life to her career. I am praying this book will bring her some comfort and closure. However, I believe one does not have to experience this particular change of personal plans to realize the need for a strong faith to move us to an acceptance of God’s plan for our lives. Oh Diane, what a heartache to walk alongside her in this. You are so right, though, of accepting God’s plans for us. That’s a big life lesson, no matter the circumstances!

Infertility has been part of my life, my oldest is 20, but I’ve never forgotten the feelings I had during those years of intense grief and wondering. I think my heart will always ache for my sisters in waiitng.
