The Dog Ate My Chicken

May 5, 2012 | Faith

Today I’ve watched the youngest run a race, watched three tennis matches, been to Walmart for weekly groceries for 6, got the BFG off to take his SAT’s, got last minute items for the girl going to the jungle for the summer,  and before I get the BFG off to prom, I had to run to the local festival to pick up luscious Port-A-Pit chickens for which we had tickets.  I needed to do this before 2:00 pm.

Check, check, check, check, check, check, check.

I finally sat down for a few minutes to eat this luscious chicken, my first meal of the day, at 2:00.  But as I did that, nature called, so I left the kitchen table to powder my nose.  When I came back,

my plate was empty,

the wood floor was greasy

and my puppy was licking her lips.

The dog ate my chicken.

It’s a good thing I splurged on the frozen Chinese meals at Walmart.

I’ll get to that

after I unload the groceries, change the laundry, hang it out before dusk, mop up the greasy floor, make the cake for the youth dinner tomorrow noon, iron the BFG’s tux shirt and spit shine his face before he goes to pick the Princess up and we meet up with them to take pictures.

I hope you have a great evening.

And guard your chicken.
