What’s Your Story?

May 31, 2012 | Faith

The other day I shared testimony of God’s grace in my life with someone who is wondering if God is real and if He is good.

Recently I’ve been challenged to write out my testimony, which has been both challenging and humbling. But I’m thankful to put into words the depth of what God has done in my life.

As I was talking with this person hungry for truth, hungry for something real in their situation, I could share how Christ’s grace has become real to me in the most intimate moments of brokenness.

In the moments no one else sees where, bruised and broken, the God of all mercy floods grace by increasing measure. Moments where things begin changing not of your own doing, but His.

That’s the Truth of the gospel.  Often Christ ministers in times most unsuspecting and difficult. I was able to say I’m thankful for the broken moments, though at the time, they were too hard to be thankful for.

Broken moments has given me a different perspective of God.  My whole life I’ve known God and have walked in a personal relationship with Him.  But it’s been the locust-eaten years (Joel 2:25) that have brought an understanding of God and his character I didn’t know before.

I’ve learned human efforts fail in comparison to the redemptive work of God.  It’s a privilege to share how God pursues us when we are walking away from Him.

God desires us to share our suffering for His honor and glory, drawing others to Him for comfort and truth.  While, at first, this is not easy, I’ve found ease in sharing when people are hungry and searching for something real.  A real God.

No words can describe the overwhelming knowledge of being pulled out of pit and into the hands of a gracious, merciful and loving father.

I’ll take a broken life over a picket-fence-life any day. I’m thankful for God’s redemption beyond the picket fence.

What’s your story of redemption?
Who needs to hear it today?
How can you share truth of the Living God in your life?

The power is all His….through you…..for His honor.

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth
so great is His love for those who fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
Psalm 103:11-12
