Fledge: To develop wing feathers large enough for flight.

To provide an arrow with feathers

Join us for an inspiring evening to deepen your faith with practical, biblical principles giving your family, faith, and future strong wings to fly! This event is personal and applicable as you’ll hear real faith stories from four special speakers, and also given time and tools to consider areas of your faith life that need fledged!

Featured speaker is author Brenda L. Yoder, who will share faith principles from her new book, Fledge: Launching Your Kids Without Losing Your Mind. This evening is not exclusive to moms. It’s for all women who have areas in their life–a faith struggle, a situation, or a person–where they need to “let go and let God.” Each speaker will share real stories of how they fledged their faith by applying biblical principles to life’s faith challenges. On the day of the event, Brenda will have a premier book signing of Fledge from 1-3 pm at The Glow Bookstore, Shipshewana, and will also be signing books from 5-5:45 at The Farmstead Conference Center before The Faith Gathering.

Brenda has been featured in two Chicken Soup for the Soul Books, The Washington Post, and released Balance, Busyness and Not Doing It All in 2015. She writes and speaks throughout the country on subjects related to Life Beyond the Picket Fence-life, faith, and parenting beyond the storybook image. She’s a licensed mental health counselor, life coach, former teacher and school counselor. She loves teaching the Bible and applying scriptural principles to life’s challenges. Brenda is a wife of 28 years and a parent of four children, ages teen to adults. Growing up a “townie” in Shipshewana, she now lives on a farm north of town where you’ll find her gardening or sitting on her porch swing trying to…. balance busyness by not doing it all.

Donna Bontrager is a wife of 30 years and is the mom of two grown children. She is a native of Shipshewana and has lived in the community her entire life. When she’s not working at the Trading Place of Shipshewana, she enjoys spending time with family and digging into a good Bible study with a great cup of coffee. Donna says, “My faith is a daily walk in my relationship with Jesus. He has shown me His faithfulness and provision throughout my life and through His Word. His promises are true. I can trust Him no matter what!” Donna is known by her friends and community for her great sense of humor, strong faith, caring heart, and authentic humility.

Ingrid Lochamire is a freelance writer and blogger who lives on a farm in northeast Indiana. She left a career as a news reporter to homeschool her four sons through high school and to partner with her husband in the family business. Still adjusting to her “empty nest”, Ingrid is working on her first novel and writes for online publications and her blog. Her desire is to help other women experience the healing power of telling life stories, and mentors women in valuing their stories and creating an enduring family legacy. She’s created a story-telling tool to help others share “slice of life” stories and published a collection of her father’s stories about growing up in a small Indiana town during the Great Depression. Her writing has been featured online in The Redbud Post, Topology Magazine and the website Busy Being Blessed. While parenting has been her greatest joy, it’s also been the most challenging role, both testing and expanding her faith in the Lord and in His good and perfect plan.

Connie Gochenaur is a storyteller and blogger. The mother of four grown daughters and Grandma to six grandchildren, she’s a transplanted city girl, now living the “Green Acres” life in northern Indiana. Her devotional writing has been featured in The Upper Room and Prodigal. Her passions are the local Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack, and an art ministry she has started for senior citizens. She loves to study God’s Word, and is fascinated by how relevant it is to daily living. She often mentors younger moms in the throes of child-rearing by helping them discover this “compass”. Connie recognizes the difficulty in raising a family, but she’s discovered that being the mother of 4 grown daughters brings new challenges along with great beauty. She says God continues to teach her new and wonderful things as her faith and dependence on Him grows.
