Hope in Hard Times

Dec 11, 2020 | Faith

Where do you find your hope?

I find it only in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Hope is not in government, leaders, or even those we love. Hope is a person, just as love is a person. His name is Jesus. Find out more if you do not know Jesus Christ. Also, watch my hope story above of how Jesus changed me.

As things change around me, my relationship with Christ is the only thing which is certain and grounding. He grounds me amidst the things happening at the national level, but also among the sadness surrounding my immediate circles and community. The pandemic is hitting my community hard. Many deaths are personal to me on top of our family’s loss just six weeks ago.

But in death, there is hope. Death is just the beginning of life in eternity with the living God! There is no more death, mourning, crying, or pain in heaven, promises Revelation 21:4. Believers in Jesus Christ are ushered into His presence.

Life on this earth may be close to the most despairing time in decades. As a former History teacher, I believe there have been times worse than what we are living in. But the influx of national insecurity and an ongoing pandemic is challenging us, isn’t it?

Friends, I hope you seek the Lord. Lean into him rather than the news or predictions or prophecies. Be in his word, the Bible. Read it. Study it. Pray over it. Ask God to reveal what he wants you to learn from it.
