A Mother’s Heart for a Child with Special Needs

Nov 10, 2012 | Faith

It’s been an honor to watch my friend, Lou Anne Hostetler, raise her family.  While her firstborn, Jeffrey, was very young, she and her husband found out he has cerebral palsy.  This past spring, Jeffrey graduated from high school.  I have watched Lou Anne pour into the life of her son in the last eighteen years, providing physical therapy in the evenings after working all day, driving hours so he can get the best therapy and participate in the activities that would help him develop to his best potential.  We’ve watched him be manager of the high school varsity basketball team, participate in Special Olympics, and praise God enthusiastically in front of church.  I highly respect her and have asked her to share her story.  Please read her encouraging story here.

In addition to Lou Anne’s story, I am also hosting a give away of another inspiring woman’s story, Until We All Come Home by Kim de Blecourt, which was released this week.  If you have an adoptee in your family, you won’t want to miss being aware of Kim’s story.  Details for entry of the giveaway are here.

I’ve been blessed by inspiring women in my life.  I encourage you to share your stories with others so those around you can be blessed by the simple ways God has worked in YOUR life.  Have a great weekend.
